State tournament MVP heads up girls coaches Class 5A All-State team

The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) girls soccer coaches have officially released their Class 5A All-State team, with state tournament MVP Ashna Mehra of Indian Springs leading the charge. Coaches recognized the talent across the classification, securing a strong representation for Indian Springs, which placed two players on the first team and two on the second team.

Indian Springs Leads the Way

Mehra, a junior, is joined on the first team by her Indian Springs teammate, junior midfielder Caitlyn Yang. The school’s stellar season is further reflected on the second team, where senior defender Ellie Lynn Martin and freshman forward Graclyn Kau earned honors.

Guntersville’s Strong Presence

Despite a heartbreaking 1-0 loss in the state final, state runner-up Guntersville maintained a massive presence on the All-State squads. The Wildcats, who finished their campaign at 21-4-2, dominated the 5A polls throughout the season, spending five weeks at the No. 1 spot before the final match against No. 3 Indian Springs.

Guntersville’s first-team selections include freshman forward Ella Tate Campbell, junior midfielders Ella Willis and Katie Roberts, and junior defender Lilla Powers.
