‘Stranger Things’ star gets candid about motherhood after welcoming daughter
Life has been different since welcoming a daughter.
Stepping into the role of a first-time parent comes with its fair share of uncertainty, even for global superstars like Millie Bobby Brown.
Finding Her Footing as a Mom
The 22-year-old "Stranger Things" star is getting real about the joys and anxieties of raising her daughter, whom she and husband Jake Bongiovi adopted last summer. As she navigates the early stages of motherhood, Brown admits that self-doubt is a frequent visitor.
In a recent video shared on Instagram for the UNICEF "My Parenting Journey" series, Brown revealed how she relies on a support system when common parenting questions arise. "They are doing something and you’re like, ‘Is that normal? Do they do that?’” she said. When those moments strike, she turns to her own mother or her mother-in-law for a quick reality check. "She’s just like my 911," Brown explained. "It’s so nice to hear reassurance."
Empowering the Next Generation
Since embracing motherhood, the actress—who serves as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador—noted that her perspective on life has shifted significantly. Brown is focused on crafting an environment for her daughter defined by ambition and mutual support.
"I just try to learn as much as I can and feed it into her life, so that she knows nothing other than girls supporting girls, women succeeding, women achieving their dreams," Brown said. "It sets a standard for her to know that she shouldn’t settle for anything less."
