‘Ted Lasso’ star sets record straight on rumored ‘rift’ with Jason Sudeikis
The record was straight set in an Instagram Story post.
Hannah Waddingham is hitting back at the rumor mill. In a recent social media post, the Ted Lasso star took to her Instagram Story to clear the air regarding persistent reports of a so-called rift between her and co-star Jason Sudeikis.
Setting the record straight
Waddingham didn't mince words when addressing the gossip. According to Entertainment Tonight, the actress called the reports "utter bollocks" and labeled the claims "ridiculous, clickbait buuuuuulllls---!" She emphasized that Sudeikis remains her "beloved, long-standing friend and acting partner," before chiding the outlets spreading the rumors, asking if it was a "quiet news day" and telling them to "get a life!!!"
Back to the pitch
Fans of the hit Apple TV series can breathe a sigh of relief. Waddingham confirmed that she, Sudeikis, and the rest of the cast are set to return for another season of the show on Aug. 5. Teasing the upcoming installment, she promised that Season 4 of Ted Lasso is "gonna be a dooooozyyyy." She signed off with a nod to the show's home turf, adding, "See you all up Nelson Road! Long live AFC Richmond!"
Where did the rumors start?
The speculation appears to have stemmed from an interview Waddingham gave to Variety, in which she described an "ongoing love-hate relationship" with Sudeikis specifically centered on his habit of rewriting scripts on the fly. At the time, she explained that Sudeikis’s creative process involves making adjustments in the room, noting that "with that boy, you’ve got to roll with the punches" due to his tendency to change scenes at the last minute.
