The first emergency call came in at 4:57 p.m. regarding a shooting in the 800 block of 14th Street S.W. Officials confirmed that the victim involved in this incident sustained serious injuries.
Second Incident Reported at UAB St. Vincent’s East
Less than an hour later, at 5:45 p.m., a second victim arrived at UAB St. Vincent’s East seeking treatment for gunshot wounds. While that individual’s injuries are considered non-life-threatening, investigators believe the underlying incident took place in the East Lake area.
