20-year-old drowns at Oak Mountain State Park

A tragic accident unfolded Saturday evening at Oak Mountain State Park, where a 20-year-old man lost his life due to drowning.
Search and Recovery Efforts
Emergency crews were dispatched to the park following reports of a missing person. The Pelham Fire Department led the rescue operation, deploying boats equipped with sonar technology to scan the park's beach swimming area.
A dive team was also utilized to assist in the search. According to responders, the victim had been underwater for approximately 20 minutes before he was located and pulled from the water.
