Boeing gains $750 million in Pentagon contracts for support, R&D, cybersecurity
The Pentagon announced the three contracts on May 29 and June 1.
Boeing Co. has secured a major boost from the federal government, landing three separate contracts totaling $750 million. The Pentagon officially announced the awards between May 29 and June 1.
Supporting the Armed Forces
The largest of the three agreements is a $528 million deal through the Defense Logistics Agency. This contract ensures that Boeing will maintain ongoing support services for the Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. This operational partnership is scheduled to run through September 16, 2027.
Research, Development, and Cybersecurity
Beyond logistical support, Boeing emerged as the winner from a pool of 11 bidders for a $200 million research and development project. This initiative focuses on integrating aerodynamics and structural technologies to foster the adoption of next-generation aerospace vehicles. That project is slated for completion by May 28, 2037.
Rounding out the trio of contracts, the company landed a $22 million deal tasked with bolstering the cybersecurity resilience of military data systems, ensuring compliance with National Security Agency standards.
Geographic Reach
The extensive scope of these projects will see work performed across multiple states, including facilities in St. Louis, Missouri; Melbourne, Florida; El Segundo, Alameda, and Pleasanton, California; and Heath, Ohio. The final phase of these combined efforts is expected to wrap up by December 2028, as reported by 205focus.com.
