Alabama football lands 2028 commitment from linebacker target
Alabama earned its second 2028 football recruiting commitment on Monday.
Kalen DeBoer and his Alabama football coaching staff are keeping their eyes on the future. While the program remains focused on recruiting the 2027 class, they are simultaneously stacking talent for 2028, securing their second commitment for that cycle on Monday.
New Addition to the Tide
Dustin “Boosh” Henry, a standout linebacker from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, has officially pledged his commitment to the Crimson Tide. Henry announced his decision on Monday in collaboration with Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.
Originally a member of the 2029 recruiting class, Henry played his freshman season for St. Frances in 2025 before making the recent decision to reclassify to the 2028 group.
Building Momentum in Tuscaloosa
The connection between Alabama and the talented linebacker has been brewing for months, with Henry receiving an offer from the Tide back in December. He spent time on the Tuscaloosa campus on Monday, sharing photos of his visit alongside Alabama’s director of player development, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, Henry is currently recognized as a three-star prospect by Rivals and is ranked as the No. 48 linebacker in the 2028 class. While he does not hold a rating from 247Sports at this time, his addition is a significant move for the program.
The 2028 Class Outlook
Henry’s commitment provides a major boost to Alabama’s 2028 foundation, joining quarterback Charles Scott as the second pledge for the group. Scott, a three-star prospect out of Virginia, is currently rated as the No. 33 quarterback in the class by the 247Sports composite rankings.
Though the recruiting cycle is in its very early stages, the addition of Henry has propelled Alabama to the No. 8 spot nationally in the 247 composite rankings.
