Popular ’80s, ‘90s groups latest to drop out of Trump’s Great American State Fair

The lineup for the Great American State Fair continues to face volatility as additional acts have pulled out of the upcoming event. The 16-day celebration, organized by Donald Trump’s nonprofit Freedom 250, is intended to be a World Fair-style tribute to America’s 250th birthday, spanning from the U.S. Capitol to the Washington Monument.

Growing List of Departures

Recent cancellations follow news that Young MC and Morris Day have already backed out of their scheduled appearances. Confusion has now further clouded the roster, with Milli Vanilli singer Jodie Rocco clarifying to The Associated Press that neither she, her sister Linda, nor any other members of the group were ever asked to perform. "My sister and I were shocked to see our name, ‘Milli Vanilli’, as one of the performers," Rocco stated in an email.

Freedom Williams of C+C Music Factory also announced his exit via an Instagram video. Williams indicated he was unaware of the event's political affiliation when he was booked, stating, "(My agent) didn’t mention Trump... I told my agent, ‘Yeah, no, I ain’t good to do that. I don’t (support) Trump.’”
