4 Alabama players on ballot for MLB All-Star Game

Four standout players with Alabama high school and collegiate roots are looking for a boost from fans to secure their spots in the 2026 MLB All-Star Game. As the race to the Midsummer Classic intensifies, supporters have a limited window to help their favorite local stars earn a starting nod.

Voting Update

Since fan voting kicked off on June 3, the competition has been fierce. Major League Baseball released its first voting update on Monday, showing designated hitters currently leading the pack. Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers is out in front for the National League with 1,165,133 votes, while the Houston Astros’ Yordan Alvarez leads the American League with 1,015,768.

How to Support Local Talent

While these global superstars are dominating the early returns, fans have the power to decide the rest of the starting lineups for this year’s exhibition. Fans can vote online up to five times per day through 11 a.m. CDT on June 25.

The Voting Process

The selection process consists of two phases:

  • Phase 1: Running through June 25, this phase determines which players advance. The top vote-getters at each position move on, with the overall leader in each league automatically earning a starting spot.
  • Phase 2: This follow-up voting begins at 11 a.m. on June 29 and concludes at 11 a.m. on July 2, with the winners cementing their roles as All-Star starters.
