The Lowndes County school community is in mourning following the sudden passing of Lowndes Middle School Principal Christopher Chambers this past weekend.
A Respected Leader Remembered
In an official statement shared on Facebook, school leadership expressed profound sadness over the loss. The district highlighted Chambers' dedication and professionalism, noting the significant impact he made during his tenure, which began just one year ago.
Hundreds of community members have taken to social media to share their heartbreak and reflect on his legacy. Former students fondly recalled his ability to bring laughter into the classroom and his consistently positive attitude, with one student noting that his impact on their freshman year would never be forgotten.
Colleagues Pay Tribute
State Rep. Phillip Ensler, D-Montgomery, joined the community in honoring Chambers, with whom he previously worked at Lee High School. In a tribute posted Friday evening, Ensler reflected on their time as colleagues between 2012 and 2014, emphasizing the importance of community support during this time of grief.
