A major boost is coming to Eufaula as an aluminum component supplier for electric vehicles prepares to breathe new life into a prominent local industrial site. ALMAC Alabama has officially acquired the sprawling 300,000-square-foot facility formerly operated by American Buildings on State Docks Road.

Reviving the Eufaula Facility

Eufaula Mayor Jack Tibbs confirmed the acquisition, which follows an 18-month negotiation process. While the purchase price remains undisclosed, the deal marks a significant turning point for the property. The site, located off State Docks Road, has seen previous workforce reductions, including 79 layoffs last year when Nucor Buildings Group relocated operations to Texas, and a reduction of 229 jobs in 2020.

Job Creation and Future Growth

The project is expected to bring 100 new jobs to the area, with operations projected to launch in late 2027. Once the plant hits full production, it will operate across two shifts. Mayor Tibbs also hinted at potential future expansion, noting that there is a possibility for an additional industry to occupy a portion of the site alongside ALMAC.

Why Eufaula?

For ALMAC Alabama manager Gyu Yong Kim, Eufaula’s geographic advantage was key. Kim noted in an interview with WRBL that the city’s proximity to major automotive hubs like Hyundai and Kia made it an ideal location for the new facility.

"Eufaula is a great place for the new factory because it has good roads and great workers," Kim said. "Most of all, the warm welcome and strong support from the mayor and city leaders helped us decide to invest here."
