Popular farm supply and home decor store opens seventh Alabama location

Rural King is officially expanding its footprint in the Yellowhammer State. The family-owned retailer is celebrating the grand opening of its newest storefront in Prattville this weekend, marking its seventh location across Alabama.

A New Hub for Farm and Home

Shoppers can find the new facility at 742 E. Main St., which comes fully equipped with modern conveniences, including mobile and self-checkout options. The expansive inventory caters to a wide range of needs, from livestock feed and power equipment to home décor, sporting goods, and outdoor patio essentials.

Customers browsing the aisles will find a variety of trusted brands, such as Carhartt, Blackstone, Ariat, Wrangler, Black Rifle Coffee Co., Walnut Creek Foods, and Henry Rifles.

Grand Opening Celebration

The festivities are running throughout the weekend. Visitors who enroll in the RK Rewards program in-store can enter for a chance to win one of four $500 Rural King gift cards. The event promises special pricing on items throughout the store, making it the perfect time for locals to stop by.

Michael Ladd, COO of Rural King, noted the natural fit for the retailer in the area: "Alabama communities have long embraced our commitment to the rural lifestyle, and Prattville is no exception, with its deep roots in agriculture, hard work and the outdoors."

Continued Growth

Founded in 1960 in Mattoon, Illinois, the chain has seen steady growth and now operates over 150 stores across 17 states. This latest expansion follows a series of recent milestones for the retailer in Alabama, including the 2025 openings in Saraland and Jasper. Additionally, Gadsden announced plans for its own Rural King location last year, as tracked by 205focus.com.
