Birmingham Afternoon Shooting Hospitalizes One

An investigation is underway following a shooting on Friday afternoon in Birmingham.

The incident occurred at 2:37 p.m. in the 600 block of West Boulevard. A male called 911 to report that his father had been shot.

The victim was hit in the leg and was bleeding heavily. He was rushed to UAB Hospital, but his condition is currently unknown.

Several nearby residents also reported hearing multiple shots fired in the area.

No arrests have been made yet. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect fleeing the scene in a sedan.
