If you are on the hunt for a bargain, the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) has just the event for you. The agency's Surplus Property Division has officially kicked off its latest online auction, offering a wide array of items ranging from heavy-duty vehicles to everyday essentials.

What to expect at the auction

The auction period is officially open as of May 16 and will run through May 24. Participants can bid on a diverse inventory that includes cars, trucks, and boats. Beyond the motor vehicles, the list of available goods features industrial equipment, electronics, office supplies, appliances, housewares, tools, and exercise gear.

The inventory consists of property that is no longer required by various state and federal agencies, as well as items that were voluntarily abandoned at airports across the Southeast.

Viewing and participation

Want to see the goods in person before you place a bid? The division is hosting public viewing and inspection hours at its Montgomery distribution center. You can stop by to check out the items from May 20 through May 22, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Please note that these auctions are held periodically throughout the year by the division, and all sales are considered final once the items are picked up.
