New Chick-fil-A coming to this Alabama city
Chick-fil-A has 98 locations in Alabama.
Wetumpka is officially getting its first Chick-fil-A. Mayor Jerry Willis confirmed the news on the city's official social media channels, marking a milestone that local leaders and residents have eagerly anticipated for years.
A Long-Awaited Arrival
"For years, our residents have asked to see Chick-fil-A come to Wetumpka, and we’re proud to see that vision becoming a reality," Mayor Willis stated. The project is the result of significant effort from the city’s economic development team, led by Lynn Weldon, and is being celebrated by city leadership as a major win for the community.
According to reports from WSFA, the new restaurant is slated for the Shoppes of Fort Toulouse, situated at the busy intersection of U.S. 231 and Fort Toulouse Road. While the announcement has generated plenty of excitement, a specific construction timeline has not yet been released.
Expanding Across Alabama
This addition continues a trend of growth for the popular chain, which currently operates 98 locations across Alabama. The expansion efforts remain steady throughout the state; just recently, a new Birmingham-area restaurant opened in Hueytown on May 21.
Growth isn't limited to central Alabama. Back in January, the Gadsden City Council approved an agreement to bring a new Chick-fil-A location to the area of Alabama 77 and Airport Road, just off Interstate 59. Stay tuned to 205focus.com for more updates as this development progresses.
