Popular Birmingham restaurant closing dining room for the summer
The restaurant moved to 1911 3rd Ave. last year.
A staple of the Birmingham dining scene is pressing pause for the season. Carrigan’s Public House has officially closed its dining room for the remainder of the summer.
Summer Hiatus
Patrons calling the restaurant will hear a recorded message confirming the temporary closure. According to an update posted on the restaurant’s official website, the venue is slated to reopen its doors to the public on Labor Day.
While the dining room is shuttered, the team is still handling inquiries for private events, which can be submitted directly through their website. Attempts to reach the restaurant for further comment were not immediately successful.
A Downtown Landmark
Carrigan’s has been a fixture in downtown Birmingham since its debut in 2013. Originally located on Morris Avenue, the business relocated last year to 1913 3rd Avenue N., situated within The William.
The historic building, constructed in 1905, was once a furniture store and serves as a nod to owner David Carrigan’s father. Today, the redeveloped mixed-use site houses both the restaurant and 27 residential apartments, continuing its evolution as a centerpiece of the neighborhood.
