The "Survivor 50" finale took an unexpected turn on Wednesday when longtime host Jeff Probst committed a major on-air blunder, accidentally spoiling a challenge result before it even reached the screen.
A Spoilers-Filled Surprise
As the show prepared to air a taped fire-making challenge, Probst inadvertently gave away the game. He prematurely declared that Rizo Velovic had lost the competition, effectively revealing that Velovic would not be among the final three contestants.
"Camp life is also about firemaking," Probst stated, as noted per PEOPLE. "I don’t know if there’s something in there to think about, anyway, Rizo, you’ve become the final member of our jury. Take a spot over here."
Confusion in the Moment
The 64-year-old host appeared visibly rattled and confused by his own words. When the contestants reminded him that the fire-making challenge had not actually occurred yet, Probst could only ask, "What just happened?"
Despite the contestants' attempts to clarify the error and a voice from off-camera shouting, "Keep going," Probst remained visibly caught off guard.
