Matt Brown, a familiar face from the Discovery series Alaskan Bush People, has passed away at the age of 42. His brother, Solomon Isaiah “Bear” Brown, confirmed the tragic news via Instagram, revealing that Matt was discovered in Washington on Saturday.
A Difficult Loss
In a video statement, Bear Brown explained that a body was recovered from a river and positively identified as his brother. Expressing his grief and shock, Bear shared, “I would have never suspected he would have hurt himself, honestly. He struggled for a long time, as I’ve mentioned, and I worried he was going to end up, like, OD’d or something like that. I didn’t think he would hurt himself.”
While awaiting official results from the coroner, Bear noted that the injury appears to be self-inflicted. Their brother, Noah Brown, was reportedly on-site during the recovery, assisting in pulling Matt from the water and providing a positive identification.
