‘How I Met Your Mother’ actor sentenced for fatally stabbing makeup artist ex-girlfriend

Nick Pasqual, a performer known for his role in How I Met Your Mother, has been sentenced to 32 years to life in prison following his conviction for the attempted murder of his former partner, makeup artist Allie Shehorn.

A Violent Assault

A jury found Pasqual guilty of several serious charges, including first-degree burglary, rape, and injuring a spouse or partner. During the proceedings, as reported by ABC, Shehorn testified while bearing visible scars on her neck and hands from the attack.

The horrific incident occurred in the early hours of May 23, 2024. Prosecutors detailed how Pasqual broke into Shehorn’s Shadow Hills home shortly before 4:30 a.m. and attacked her with a knife before fleeing California. Shehorn’s roommate, Christine White, eventually discovered the victim in a pool of blood. Friends believe she was stabbed more than 20 times, and she required emergency surgery and extensive intensive care to survive.

Legal History and Background

Tensions between the two had escalated prior to the assault. Shehorn had filed for a restraining order just days before the attack, outlining harrowing claims of physical and sexual abuse. Authorities eventually apprehended Pasqual at a border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas, and returned him to Los Angeles to face justice.

The couple had originally met while working on the set of Zack Snyder’s film “Rebel Moon,” where Pasqual was a background actor and Shehorn served as a makeup artist. As 205focus.com reported, the legal battle continues; Shehorn recently filed a civil lawsuit against Pasqual in Los Angeles County Superior Court, alleging sexual battery, assault, and negligence in a 17-page complaint that highlights the same pattern of behavior that led to his criminal conviction.
