Suspect charged in Montgomery shooting that killed 40-year-old man

Montgomery authorities have officially charged a suspect in connection with a deadly shooting that left one man dead and another injured last week. The investigation by local law enforcement has led to a murder charge for 37-year-old Travis “Pickle” Delbridge.

Incident Details

Montgomery police responded to reports of gunfire in the 3400 block of Texas Street at 11:41 p.m. on Thursday, June 11. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper right back. That individual was transported to Baptist South Hospital in critical condition, though he has since been upgraded to stable condition.

While canvassing the area, officers located 40-year-old Eldrick McNeal, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Medics were unable to save him, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene at 12:05 a.m. on Friday.

Investigation and Charges

According to charging documents, the encounter began when Delbridge and others arrived at the residence on Texas Street. While initial interactions appeared calm, the surviving victim reported that Delbridge was carrying a Draco firearm. The survivor recounted hearing a loud bang followed by a sensation of pain in his back; he described hearing subsequent gunfire that resulted in McNeal’s death.

Delbridge was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility on Sunday night. He is currently held without bond and is awaiting an Aniah’s Law hearing, which is expected to take place later this week.
