A woman was found dead Saturday morning in western Jefferson County.
The body was discovered around 10 a.m. near Merritt Street and Mountain Road in the Bessemer area.
According to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Henry Irby, the cause of death remains unclassified pending the results of an autopsy. Authorities have not yet determined whether foul play was involved.
