15 music stars who canceled or postponed tours in 2026

The 2026 concert season has hit a turbulent patch. From global superstars to rising talent, more than a dozen music acts have been forced to cancel or postpone tour dates this year. While the reasons vary, performers are citing everything from health struggles and creative roadblocks to underwhelming ticket sales.

Unlike the vague "scheduling conflicts" often used in the past, artists are increasingly turning to social media to offer transparent, sometimes deeply personal, updates about why they are stepping away from the stage. Here is a look at the major stars who have nixed or modified their 2026 tour plans.

Kiefer Sutherland

The Emmy-winning actor and folk-rock musician recently canceled the U.S. leg of his "Love Will Bring You Home Tour." In a May 15 Instagram post, the 59-year-old cited low ticket sales, noting that it wouldn't be fair to venues or fans to play in half-empty rooms.

Post Malone and Jelly Roll

The co-headlining "Big Ass Stadium Tour" hit a snag when the duo canceled several May and June dates, including a scheduled May 26 show at Protective Stadium in Birmingham. Post Malone, 30, noted on Instagram that he wanted more time to finish new music. The tour is slated to resume on June 9 in Charlotte. Meanwhile, Jelly Roll has pivoted to his own "The Little Ass Shed Tour," which includes a May 31 solo show in Birmingham.

Neil Young

Rock legend Neil Young, 80, canceled all 2026 tour dates, including a planned 13-show European run with the Chrome Hearts. In a February message on his website, Young simply stated, "This is not the time."

Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton, 80, has canceled her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace. Addressing fans in a May 4 Instagram video, she explained that she is working to address issues with kidney stones and her immune and digestive systems, joking that she needed to be in top form to handle her signature five-inch heels.

Barry Manilow

The 82-year-old pop icon is managing a slower-than-expected recovery following surgery for lung cancer. Manilow has updated fans via social media, explaining that he isn't yet ready to perform his full 90-minute sets. His current schedule includes dates through January 2027 at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.

Zayn Malik

Following a recent hospitalization, former One Direction star Zayn Malik, 33, canceled his U.S. tour dates. While recovering, he expressed his heartbreak over missing the chance to tour North America solo, though he still has select international dates listed on his website.

Meghan Trainor

Meghan Trainor, 32, canceled her summer tour to focus on her family following the birth of her daughter. In an Instagram update, she emphasized that balancing a new album launch and a nationwide trek was simply more than she could manage at this time.

Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato, 33, adjusted her "It's Not That Deep Tour" by canceling five shows. She shared in a February Instagram story that the move was necessary to "protect my health" and build more rest into her schedule.

Static-X

Citing "serious medical issues" within the band, industrial metal act Static-X canceled their remaining 2026 dates on May 18. The band addressed concerns via Instagram, stating that while they needed to take time for "parts that need fixing," they plan to return in 2027.

The Pussycat Dolls

The girl group has canceled the U.S. leg of their reunion tour. While European dates remain on the books, the group confirmed they are moving forward with only one North American appearance: the OUTLOUD Music Festival on June 6.

Colter Wall, Tayler Holder, and Randall King

Three country artists—Colter Wall, Tayler Holder, and Randall King—have all independently announced breaks from touring this year to focus on mental health. Wall cited a need for an indefinite hiatus, Holder pointed to feeling "unfulfilled" despite his success, and King announced a pause to focus on his faith and family. Each artist expressed their sincere apologies to fans while highlighting the importance of prioritizing their well-being.

Amber Mark

Pop and R&B singer Amber Mark, 32, was forced to cancel spring dates due to a vocal fold hemorrhage. She updated fans via X in April, explaining that she remains on a strict vocal rest regimen but is already looking forward to rescheduling.
