A 32-year-old man has died while in custody at the Birmingham City Jail. According to reports confirmed by 205focus.com, the inmate was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office as Patrick Lamar Croskey.
Incident Details
Deputy Coroner Matt Angelo stated that correctional staff discovered Croskey unresponsive inside his single-person cell on Thursday. Jail staff found him at 2:35 p.m., and he was officially pronounced dead shortly thereafter at 3:26 p.m.

Croskey had been held at the facility since April 21, following his arrest for failure to appear on misdemeanor charges.
