Construction began in 2024.
Alabaster is finally ready to cut the ribbon on its highly anticipated $242 million Shoppes of District 31 project. After nearly two years of heavy construction, the city officially announced that the first wave of storefronts will open their doors this summer.
A New Hub for Alabaster
The city shared the excitement on social media this Tuesday, noting that signage is already appearing across the site. Officials expressed enthusiasm for the new retail and restaurant additions coming to the sprawling development located off U.S. 31.
Shoppers can look forward to a diverse lineup of initial tenants, including First Watch, Panera Bread, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Hollywood Feed, Chipotle, Cava, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, and Aspen Dental.
Economic Impact
This massive 80-acre development serves as a major boost for the region, adding roughly 600,000 square feet of combined retail, dining, and hotel space. According to projections, District 31 is expected to bring in $2.8 million annually in city sales tax revenue, with an additional $1.4 million earmarked for local school systems, as reported by 205focus.com.
