Barry Moore benefits from powerful crypto group’s ‘biggest bet’ this election
Moore has voted for several bills that the crypto industry has prioritized this Congress, including the CLARITY Act.
Rep. Barry Moore, the Republican nominee for Alabama’s open U.S. Senate seat, has emerged as a focal point for the cryptocurrency industry’s massive spending efforts. Federal records reveal that Moore has secured more campaign funding from a powerful crypto-affiliated super PAC than any other member of Congress.
A Multi-Million Dollar Boost
Since 2025, Moore has reaped over $12 million in support from a super PAC linked to major industry players. This financial backing is significantly higher than that received by other congressional candidates this election cycle. The funding flows through Defend American Jobs, an organization connected to the prominent super PAC Fairshake. This parent organization is fueled by millions from industry heavyweights, including Coinbase, Ripple, and the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.
As Congress gears up for a critical vote on a $2 trillion regulatory bill, the crypto sector is effectively establishing a new blueprint for influencing Washington policy. Analyst Rick Claypool, who tracks campaign finance, noted that Moore has clearly aligned himself with the industry, marking a departure from traditional, broader corporate political spending in favor of highly targeted contributions.
Legislative Record and Campaign Strategy
Moore has consistently supported pro-crypto legislation, including the CLARITY Act. While his campaign did not offer comment for this report, a spokesperson previously told 205focus.com that the congressman is committed to President Trump’s vision of establishing America as the global crypto capital.
During the primary, Moore’s opponents—Jared Hudson and Steve Marshall—criticized his reliance on outside money. Marshall, who received a D rating from the group Stand with Crypto, argued that he was being targeted by out-of-state billionaires. Despite these attacks, the ads funded by Defend American Jobs focused primarily on Moore’s conservative credentials and his endorsement from President Trump, who stated in one campaign advertisement, "Congressman Barry Moore will not let you down."
The Bigger Picture
Recent reports indicate that crypto, AI, and big tech companies are pouring record amounts into federal elections. Fairshake has already spent over $65 million this year and retains roughly $125 million for the general election. While the group supports both parties—such as Texas congressional candidate Christian Menefee, who received $6.5 million after voicing support for blockchain—the spending remains highly strategic.
Fairshake spokesperson Geoff Vetter described Moore’s primary as the group’s "biggest spend of the cycle," emphasizing that the organization intends to continue building what it calls the "largest pro-crypto caucus in history." With millions still in the coffers, the group’s influence on the 2026 election landscape is expected to grow.
