A tragic search on a North Alabama waterway has concluded. After a two-day operation, recovery teams found the body of 25-year-old Jeremiah Gamble, a veteran and father, in Lake Guntersville.

Recovery details

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Gamble was recovered at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday near the Honeycomb Campground in Marshall County. The incident began on Sunday at 1:23 p.m. during a single-vessel marine-related event near Goat Island and Honeycomb Creek.

Gamble had been enjoying the day on a 24-foot 2023 Bentley Legacy pontoon boat with friends when he went under the water and failed to resurface. Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances of his disappearance.

Community and family response

The victim's father, Rev. Patrick Gamble, shared the heartbreaking update on Facebook Tuesday evening. "I am relieved and sad to report this news. They recovered his body today from the lake. Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts as we continue to process," he stated.
