Kizzire earned his 4,607 votes through pure grit during the championship series. After dropping the opener to Fayetteville, the Lions relied on Kizzire to turn the tide. He delivered 2 scoreless innings of relief in a 6-5 Game 2 victory, surrendering only 2 hits. In the deciding Game 3, he dominated for 5.1 innings, allowing just one run on 3 hits with 3 strikeouts to seal the 10-2 title-clinching win.
