Three-star cornerback Nash Johnson III has pledged his future to Auburn, marking a major shift in his recruitment. Johnson, a Powder Springs, Georgia native, had been committed to Alabama since October before officially backing off that pledge on April 8. He made his decision to join the Tigers public via an announcement on Instagram.
Scouting the Newest Tiger
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Johnson is considered the No. 590 overall prospect in the country and the 59th-ranked cornerback in the 2027 cycle. Within his home state of Georgia, he is evaluated as a top-75 player.
Strengthening the 2027 Class
Johnson's arrival brings Auburn’s current 2027 commitment total to 10 players. He stands out as the first cornerback to join the class and just the third defensive recruit for the Tigers so far. After visiting campus for Big Cat Weekend and returning for an official visit this weekend, the momentum proved too strong to ignore.
