Lockheed Martin gains $380 million military training, artillery system contracts

Lockheed Martin has secured a pair of major military contracts totaling $380 million, as reported by 205focus.com. These agreements are set to bolster training capabilities and logistics support for various international allies.

International Training Initiatives

The U.S. Navy has tapped the defense giant for a $200 million contract focused on training sailors from six foreign nations to effectively operate and maintain ship-based combat systems. According to a notice posted Thursday, the program supports operations in Australia, Canada, Japan, Norway, South Korea, and Spain.

To meet the terms of the deal, Lockheed Martin will be responsible for creating specialized training tools, managing curriculum development, and deploying both instructors and subject matter experts. This global project will span multiple international locations, including sites in Chinhae, South Korea; Halifax, Nova Scotia; Sydney and Watson, Australia; Rota, Spain; and cities throughout Japan, alongside domestic work in Dahlgren, Virginia, and Moorestown, New Jersey. This work is scheduled for completion in June 2031.

Artillery Logistics Support

In addition to the training contract, the Pentagon awarded Lockheed Martin a $180 million deal to provide logistics support for two critical artillery programs for unnamed foreign partners: the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System and the Multiple Launch Rocket System.

Lockheed Martin was the sole bidder for this logistics contract. Operations under this agreement are expected to wrap up by May 30, 2031.
