Pihakis Restaurant Group faces eviction lawsuit over shuttered Birmingham office

The Birmingham-based Pihakis Restaurant Group is facing fresh legal trouble as it navigates a period of significant instability. A new eviction lawsuit, classified as an unlawful detainer, has been filed by 101 Parkside regarding the property located at 101 12th St. S., Suite 300, in Birmingham.

Legal Challenges Mount

This site serves as the home base for the Pihakis Restaurant Group, though the offices have sat shuttered for several weeks. Filed on Tuesday in Jefferson County District Court, the lawsuit claims a breach of the commercial lease agreement. According to court filings, the action was initiated after 101 Parkside issued a lease termination notice and the group failed to surrender the premises. No specific dollar amount is linked to this particular claim, and public records do not currently list an attorney for the restaurant group.

This eviction filing marks the fourth major lawsuit hitting the company. PRG is already grappling with three separate lawsuits totaling over $1 million in unpaid bills, alongside liens from developer Michael Mouron that exceed $12.6 million across two counties.

Restaurant Fallout and Transitions

The turmoil began to surface publicly on April 12 when Tasty Town Greek Restaurant and Lounge abruptly shuttered its doors. The collapse of the restaurant empire has sent ripples through the local dining scene, though some locations have managed to survive through changes in ownership.
