State runner-up finishes with sparkling showing in Class 1A/3A All-State soccer team

Madison Academy dominated the latest Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) soccer honors. In a vote of coaches across the state, the Mustangs placed more players on the Class 1A/3A All-State first team than any other program regardless of classification.

Despite a heart-wrenching overtime exit in the state semifinals against eventual champion Susan Moore, Madison Academy’s stellar campaign saw six of its seniors named to the elite first team. The Mustangs, who entered the postseason ranked No. 2, showcased a veteran-led squad that left a lasting impression on the coaching community.

The selection process also highlighted the depth of programs like Collinsville and Tanner, each of which landed six total players across the first and second teams. Collinsville split its selections evenly with three on the first and three on the second, while Tanner boasted two first-team picks alongside four second-team honorees.
