AEW Superstar talks ‘Double or ‘Nothing, his dream match, and Alabama white sauce
AEW superstar, Speedball Mike Bailey talks about success at Double or Nothing and AEW's stacked roster ahead of AEW Collision in Huntsville on Saturday night.
Fresh off the heels of a high-octane Double or Nothing pay-per-view this past Sunday, AEW is bringing its momentum to Huntsville. The promotion is set to take over the Von Braun Center this Saturday night for an action-packed episode of AEW Collision.
A Global Star Hits Alabama
Among the elite talent slated for the event is "Speedball" Mike Bailey. A veteran with 20 years in the squared circle, Bailey has captivated audiences worldwide with his signature martial arts-influenced style, boasting a resume that includes extensive runs in NJPW and CMLL.
Speaking with 205focus.com, Bailey reflected on the diverse identity of the AEW roster, which he believes was on full display during the recent pay-per-view. "Every single match was fantastic but in a completely different way," Bailey noted. "No two matches were the same, but they were at the top level of whatever style of professional wrestling they were doing."
Rising Through the Ranks
Since joining AEW in 2025, Bailey has become a fixture of the company's competitive landscape. He is a multi-time AEW Trios Champion, having held the gold alongside Kevin Knight as well as in a stint with luchador Mistico and a partnership with "Hangman" Adam Page. Beyond tag team success, Bailey has made waves in the singles division, stepping into the ring with heavy hitters like Kenny Omega, Ricochet, Kazuchika Okada, and Kyle Fletcher.
Despite his extensive experience, Bailey admits he is still hunting for that ultimate test: a marquee singles showdown against Kenny Omega. Bailey views the current AEW landscape as the perfect environment for such dream bouts, noting, "AEW’s where the best wrestle. They got there because they are one of the best."
A Taste of the Rocket City
This weekend marks a milestone for the 35-year-old Québec native as he makes his first-ever trip to Alabama. Beyond the ring, Bailey is eager to experience local culture—specifically the state's famous culinary exports. "This is my first time working in Alabama, this is my [first time] in Huntsville, but I’ve already been told about white sauce and rockets. I hope to get some of that chicken soon," Bailey said.

AEW Collision kicks off at the Von Braun Center this Saturday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the broadcast going live on TNT at 7 p.m. Fans looking to catch the spectacle in person can grab tickets here.
