Alabama football has lost a notable piece of its future recruiting haul.

Tight End Flips Commitment

Colt Lumpris, a promising tight end in the 2027 class, has officially flipped his commitment from the Crimson Tide to Michigan, as reported to Rivals on Saturday. Lumpris had been a staple of Alabama's recruiting class since his initial pledge back in December.

Scouting the Recruit

A towering presence at 6-foot-7 and 240 pounds, Lumpris plays for the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. The four-star prospect is rated as the No. 13 tight end in the 2027 class according to the Rivals Industry rankings. Beyond his time with the Crimson Tide, Lumpris had garnered attention from several other programs, including Penn State and Rutgers.

State of the 2027 Class

Following this departure, Alabama's 2027 recruiting class now holds six high school commitments. The group currently sits at No. 23 in the Rivals Industry rankings, placing them 10th among SEC programs.
