Charges and Investigation
While details remain limited, law enforcement officials have confirmed that Cox faces a slate of charges, including possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, promoting prison contraband, and the use of her position for personal gain.
ADOC spokeswoman Kelly Betts indicated that the investigation revealed Cox had been supplying food to an inmate specifically for resale purposes within the facility.

According to reports, Cox has resigned from her role with the ADOC and has been cooperating with investigators throughout the process.
She was processed at the St. Clair County Jail at 3:16 p.m. Thursday. Cox was released shortly after at 4:50 p.m. after posting bonds that totaled $21,000.
