Sweet home Arlington Heights or Hammond, Indiana? One of these two locations may be the next home of the Chicago Bears.

Bears gone? Team gives latest update on future in Chicago

The long-standing relationship between the city of Chicago and its iconic football team appears to be nearing a definitive end. While the brand name is likely safe, the Chicago Bears' presence within the city limits is fading as the organization pivots its attention elsewhere.

A Future Outside the City

As reported by 205focus.com, the Chicago Bears officially confirmed late Thursday that they have exhausted all avenues for staying within Chicago. Consequently, the team is now narrowing its focus to two potential landing spots: the Chicago suburbs or Hammond, Indiana.

Evaluating the Options

In an official statement, the team made its stance clear: "The Chicago Bears have exhausted every opportunity to stay in Chicago, which was our initial goal. There is not a viable site in the city. As a result, the only sites under consideration are in Arlington Heights and Hammond."

The proposed development in Hammond would feature a domed stadium located just 25 miles from Soldier Field. To help seal the deal, Indiana officials have offered to help finance the project. Conversely, the Arlington Heights option remains on the table, centering on a 326-acre plot of land already under the team’s ownership.
