Tournament Standouts

MK McMullan, Orange Beach: McMullan was a force in the Class 4A title game, throwing four hits and four strikeouts in a 6-0 shutout of Plainview. She also contributed at the plate with a 2-for-3 performance including a double and three RBIs. Her tournament run included a no-hitter against West Limestone and 22 total innings of work.

Myleigh Dobbins, Saraland: Dobbins was a workhorse for the Spartans, logging 39 innings and 545 pitches across the tournament. She threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball against Helena in the championship, adding to an impressive performance that saw her pitch eight innings of one-run softball to force a winner-take-all scenario.

McKinley McCaghren, Lawrence County: McCaghren led the Red Devils to a 10-3 win over No. 1 Houston Academy for the Class 5A crown, holding the opposition to just four hits and one earned run while fanning five. She also delivered an RBI double in the finale after contributing 6.2 innings in the earlier 6-4 victory.

Lilli Sumblin, Kinston: Sumblin put on a masterclass in the 1A title game, tossing a two-hit shutout with seven strikeouts against Hackleburg. Her 8-0 championship win was complemented by a double and three RBIs, building on her earlier complete-game effort against Maplesville.

Harper Myers, Lamar County: Myers was lights-out in the 2A championship, allowing just one hit and a walk across five shutout innings in a 10-0 victory over North Sand Mountain. Her tournament résumé also featured a shutout against Sumiton Christian and a gritty eight-inning performance against No. 1-ranked J.U. Blacksher.

Harper Looney, Hewitt-Trussville: The Class 7A MVP took charge in the winner-take-all championship victory over Thompson, throwing all seven innings in a 2-1 decision. Her 33-inning tournament workload included a clutch five-inning shutout against Thompson to force the final game.

Emily Needham, Saint James: Needham finished her 26-inning tournament run with a 9-1 Class 3A championship win, allowing only three hits and one earned run while striking out seven. Her tournament total of 35 strikeouts was highlighted by a stunning no-hitter against Colbert County in the winners bracket final.
