The 2025-26 AHSAA baseball season has officially concluded following a thrilling championship series in Jacksonville. As the state prepares for a new era of public and private classification separation this fall, seven teams rose to the top to claim state titles in what was a memorable final act under the current structure.
With the dust settled, 205focus.com is shining a spotlight on the standout stars of the championship round. We have narrowed down the field to seven MVPs and top performers who rose to the occasion when it mattered most. Now, it is up to you to decide who had the most impressive week.
Meet the Nominees
- Jace Riggan, Hewitt-Trussville: The Florida State commit was electric, striking out eight in a complete-game four-hitter during a 4-1 Game 1 victory over Auburn. He followed that up by going 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored in the title-clinching game at shortstop.
- Asher Doepel, Hartselle: Claiming Class 6A MVP honors for the second straight season, Doepel was the catalyst for the Tigers' 11th state title. He earned the win in relief in both games against Spain Park, including 1.1 no-hit innings in the opener and the final two frames of the deciding 2-1 victory.
- Collin Hall, Faith Academy: The junior designated hitter provided a massive spark in the 5A finals, finishing 4-for-7 with three RBIs and two runs scored in the series victory over American Christian.
- Brodie Johnson, Westbrook Christian: Johnson was a dual-threat force in the 4A sweep of Bibb County. He drove in three runs and scored three more in Game 1, then fired a complete-game gem in the clincher, allowing just two runs on six hits with five strikeouts.
- Andrew Wilkinson, Glenwood School: The Gators' designated hitter was unstoppable at the plate. Wilkinson tallied three RBIs and a home run in an 18-6 Game 1 rout of Gordo before adding four RBIs and two doubles in the 8-2 championship clincher.
- Addison Senn, Ariton: Facing a must-win situation, the junior delivered a masterclass with 13 strikeouts in a complete-game effort against Mars Hill. He kept the Purple Cats alive in Game 2 and remained productive in the finale with two RBIs.
- Cruz Kizzire, Hubbertville: The sophomore played a pivotal role in the Lions' first-ever state title. After an opening loss, Kizzire stepped up in relief to help edge Fayetteville 6-5 in Game 2 and later earned the win as a starter in the 10-2 clincher, striking out three over 5.1 innings.
