Two children, 11 and 7, thrown from Jeep in crash that killed central Alabama woman

A tragic overnight accident in central Alabama has claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman and left two children hospitalized with injuries. According to reports provided by 205focus.com, the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Details of the Crash
Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as Kristi A. Matthews of Autaugaville. The crash took place at 2:32 a.m. on Alabama 14, situated approximately two miles west of Prattville in Autauga County.
ALEA Capt. Jeremy Burkiett stated that Matthews was operating a Jeep Grand Cherokee when the vehicle exited the roadway. The SUV struck a culvert, became airborne, and ultimately landed in a ditch.
Injuries and Investigation
Authorities confirmed that Matthews was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. She was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Two young passengers, ages 7 and 11, were also thrown from the SUV during the impact; both children sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the wreck remain under investigation by state troopers.
