After an intense seven-year run spanning three seasons and 26 episodes, the hit HBO drama Euphoria has officially come to an end.
The Series Finale
Show creator, writer, and director Sam Levinson confirmed the news during an appearance on the New York Times’ Popcast podcast. HBO subsequently verified the announcement to Variety, confirming that the Season 3 closer, titled “In God We Trust,” serves as the permanent series finale.

A Long-Awaited Conclusion
The end of the road for the series is hardly a shock. Lead star Zendaya previously suggested in interviews that she viewed the third season as the show's natural stopping point. A massive four-year gap between the second and third seasons also fueled speculation, as the show's breakout cast moved on to major blockbuster film projects, leading to significant production hurdles as Variety reported in 2024.
Even before the final season hit screens, Levinson hinted at a potential exit. In a pre-premiere interview with the Times, he admitted he always writes seasons as if they might be the last. When asked about a potential Season 4 at the time, Levinson simply replied, “I don’t know.” He added, “As of right now, all I want to do is hang out with my wife and kids and read some Elmore Leonard and watch ‘Mrs. Miniver’ again.”
A Lasting Legacy
Euphoria became a cultural phenomenon by diving deep into the lives of high schoolers navigating the complex worlds of drugs, sex, identity, and trauma. The final season featured a time jump, shifting the focus to how the characters “wrestle with the virtue of faith, the possibility of redemption and the problem of evil.”
The show boasted an ensemble cast that included Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, and Colman Domingo.
