First NFL contract worth $26 million to former Alabama lineman

Former Alabama offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor is officially locked in with the Miami Dolphins. The team announced on Wednesday that their first-round selection has signed his rookie contract.

A Significant Investment

Proctor, who was taken 12th overall in the NFL Draft on April 23, secured a four-year, fully guaranteed $26.12 million contract. The deal includes a $15.457 million signing bonus and features a team option to extend his stay through the 2030 season.

While he made his mark at Alabama as a standout left tackle—earning consensus All-American honors and the SEC’s Jacobs Blocking Trophy in 2025—the Dolphins plan to move Proctor to left guard for his debut season.

Draft Class Progress

With Proctor’s deal finalized, 12 of this year’s 32 first-round picks remain unsigned. Among them is former Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson, who was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams immediately following Proctor. Also still working toward a deal is former Thompson High School star and Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods, the 29th overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs.

In total, 28 prospects from Alabama high schools and colleges were selected during the April 23-25 draft. Currently, five of those players remain unsigned, including Auburn alumni Keyron Crawford and Romello Height, as well as former Ramsay High standout Tim Keenan III.
