Fisherman finds body in Birmingham’s Valley Creek, investigation underway

Emergency Response
First responders, including the Birmingham Police Department and the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service, were called to the scene in the 300 block of Third Avenue North at 12:08 p.m. after a fisherman reported the discovery.
Ongoing Investigation
As of 1:15 p.m. Monday, the body remained in the water. BFRS personnel were dispatched back to the location with specialized equipment necessary for the extrication process.
