The Denver defensive coordinator said the former Jackson-Olin alumnus played promisingly in his limited rookie appearances.

Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph sees a high ceiling for former Que Robinson. Despite playing in a limited capacity during his rookie campaign, the Jackson-Olin product displayed the traits of a future starter, according to the coaching staff.

Rising Through the Ranks

Acquired from Alabama as a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Robinson logged 162 defensive snaps across seven appearances. While his opportunities were sparse, his performance left an impression on Joseph.

"After the season, watching the cutups again, when Que played, he played really well," Joseph said. "It looked like a guy who can be a future starter for us. It’s our job to keep improving with Que and getting more reps. He’s ready to take the next step as far as playing more defensive snaps and more special teams snaps."

The Road Ahead

Breaking into the rotation in 2026 will be a challenge, as the Broncos return the core of an elite pass-rushing unit that paced the NFL with 68 sacks last season. The defensive depth remains stacked with production from Nik Bonitto, who was a finalist for the AP Defensive Player of the Year, alongside Jonathon Cooper, Dondrea Tillman, and Jonah Elliss.

Robinson showed he could perform when the stakes were highest. During the Broncos’ 10-7 loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, he registered three tackles and a sack.

From Birmingham to the Pros

Before his time in Denver, the Birmingham native and former Army All-American made his mark at Alabama. After serving primarily as a special teams contributor early in his tenure, Robinson recorded four sacks during the 2024 campaign before an elbow injury prematurely ended his season.

With one week of the offseason program remaining, the Broncos are looking to integrate their young talent further before training camp arrives. For more coverage of the professional ranks, check out our NFL page.
