School System Response

In a statement provided to 205focus.com, Superintendent Walter Gonsoulin confirmed that the school system is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation. "Our primary concern is the well-being and safety of our students," Gonsoulin stated. He noted that once the allegations surfaced, school administration moved to notify the third-party agency responsible for providing substitute teachers to ensure Rankin would not return to any school property.

"It is our understanding that the charges pertain to an off-campus situation," Gonsoulin added. "As this is an ongoing investigation and involves student privacy, we are unable to provide further comment."
