Jerry Jeudy knows the Cleveland Browns quarterback

The NFL team hasn’t named a starter for the 2026 season, but at least it’s a QB the former Alabama wide receiver has played with.

Jerry Jeudy knows the Cleveland Browns quarterback

Throughout his six-year NFL career, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has rarely experienced the luxury of quarterback stability. That trend is finally showing signs of a shift as the team enters its 2026 preparations.

A Familiar Face at Quarterback

Jeudy’s journey began as a first-round rookie with the Denver Broncos, where he caught passes from Drew Lock in 2020. His transition through various signal-callers continued with Teddy Bridgewater in 2021 and Russell Wilson from 2022 to 2023. After joining the Browns, the former Alabama star saw the team cycle through seven different starting quarterbacks between 2024 and 2025.

While the Browns have yet to name a definitive starter for the 2026 season, the competition features known commodities: Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, and Dillon Gabriel. For Jeudy, the continuity is a welcome change. Jeudy recently noted that having teammates back to build chemistry with is a rare and positive experience for a receiver.

New Coaching, Same Standard

The Browns are ushering in a new era with head coach Todd Monken and offensive coordinator Travis Switzer. Despite the transition to a new system, Jeudy remains unfazed, citing his history of adapting to constant change throughout his professional career. The coaching staff is clearly high on his potential, with Switzer praising Jeudy's quick twitch and separation ability, downplaying the statistical dip seen during the 2025 campaign.

General manager Andrew Berry has labeled Jeudy the team's "bell cow" receiver, emphasizing a well-rounded approach to the offense. The addition of rookies KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston is expected to stretch the field, creating a more dynamic room that keeps defenses from keying solely on Jeudy.

Looking Ahead

Jeudy expressed optimism regarding his veteran teammates' development during the offseason. He noted that Watson appears more confident and healthy following his recovery, while second-year quarterback Sanders is displaying greater command of the field through improved repetition.

The team is currently working through its Phase 3 organized team practice activities (OTAs), with two weeks remaining before the break leading into training camp. For more in-depth coverage of the league, be sure to visit our NFL page.
