Jimmy Buffett-themed bar opens in Alabama beach town
The "Bar & Chill" provides a taste of a coming Margaritaville development.
Summer vibes have officially arrived in Orange Beach. Just in time for the Memorial Day holiday, The Wharf has pulled back the curtain on a new Jimmy Buffett-themed establishment, offering a vibrant new spot for locals and visitors alike.
A Coastal Escape at The Wharf
The Last Mango Bar & Chill is perfectly positioned, occupying a prime spot at the gateway between the main shopping promenade and the marina. The venue offers a dual experience, featuring a spacious open-air bar alongside an indoor dining area designed to capture that laid-back coastal energy.
According to the official social media announcement, the bar serves as the "official gateway to the Margaritaville state of mind." Management promised a high-energy outdoor scene paired with a nostalgic, full-service dining atmosphere for those looking to kick back.
Looking Ahead
While this opening is a celebration in its own right, it also serves as a preview for something much larger. The Last Mango is a precursor to the massive 83-acre Margaritaville Resort complex currently under construction. That project, located on the north side of the Intracoastal Waterway across from The Wharf, is slated to open in 2027.
A Packed Weekend in Orange Beach
The timing couldn't be better for The Wharf, as the entertainment hub is bracing for a massive Memorial Day weekend. Wharf management confirmed that condos are nearly sold out as visitors pour in for a loaded slate of entertainment. The Wharf Amphitheater is keeping the energy high with performances by Hardy, Godsmack, and Dave Matthews, with The Black Crowes and Whiskey Myers scheduled to take the stage later in the week.
As of Friday afternoon, specific details regarding the full menu and live music calendar for The Last Mango were still pending, but the doors are officially open for business.
