Academy Award-winning actress Penelope Cruz delivered a startling revelation during a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday. While discussing her new project, The Black Ball, Cruz disclosed that she was warned of a potential brain aneurysm mid-production, a harrowing moment she described as completely surreal.

A Frightening Mid-Production Scare

The actress recounted the intense experience of preparing to shoot a sequence while in costume. As she was applying her wig, the news came through. "I thought I was about to die," Cruz shared. "This is something that was totally surreal in my life."

Despite the initial alarm, Cruz received medical clearance the following day. Doctors confirmed she was fit to continue filming, which included demanding singing and dancing requirements. Reflecting on the diagnosis and her ability to push through, Cruz said, "I thought, 'It’s a total miracle. I have to, I must have this in me.'"
