Trump’s son denies he sought insider information on ‘rigged’ UFC Freedom 250 matches
UFC Hall of Fame fighter Daniel Cormier, who claimed he “got hacked,” deleted a purported X direct message from Eric Trump.
Eric Trump has issued a firm denial following allegations that he reached out to a UFC Hall of Famer to seek insider information regarding match-fixing at the UFC Freedom 250 event held on the White House lawn.
The Purported Exchange
The controversy ignited Saturday when UFC legend Daniel Cormier posted an alleged X direct message exchange with Eric Trump. The leaked conversation purportedly showed Trump inquiring about fighter injuries and bluntly asking if the matches were rigged, specifically mentioning the matchup between Diego Lopes and Steve Garcia. The original post included a video and a caption in which Cormier stated he refused to stay silent regarding the alleged insider behavior.
Dismissed as Fabricated
Both parties have since dismissed the exchange as entirely fraudulent. Cormier deleted the initial post and questioned the intelligence of those who believed it, later telling video journalist Nicholas Ballasy that he was likely hacked. Trump also took to social media to label the screenshots as fake and AI-generated, stating, “This did not happen. They were AI generated. Please be careful with reporting.”
