United Football League moves playoff game back to Florida

Orlando had to move its postseason game, but it will be in Daytona Beach now instead of Ohio.

United Football League moves playoff game back to Florida

The Orlando Storm are heading home—well, almost. After originally designating Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, as the site for their upcoming United Football League postseason game, the league confirmed on Monday that the matchup will now take place in Florida.

A Change of Venue

The Storm were forced to seek a new venue because their home field, Inter&Co Stadium, was unavailable for this Sunday’s game. After the UFL exhausted all local options in Orlando, they briefly turned their eyes north to Ohio. However, a new opportunity arose in Daytona Beach, allowing the league to pivot and keep the playoff atmosphere closer to the Storm's dedicated fanbase.

Game Day Details

The top-seeded Storm (8-2) are set to face the fourth-seeded DC Defenders (5-5) this Sunday at 2 p.m. CDT. The game will be hosted at Daytona Stadium, the 10,000-seat home of Bethune-Cookman University football, and will be broadcast on ABC.

UFL President and CEO Russ Brandon expressed relief at finding a solution that brings the game back to Central Florida. Fans looking to attend can purchase tickets for $10, while Storm season-ticket holders gain free entry. Additionally, the first 5,000 attendees will receive a complimentary playoff T-shirt.

Setting the Stage

This matchup marks the third consecutive meeting between these two teams. Orlando enters with momentum, having defeated the defending 2025 champion Defenders 27-19 on May 22 and 29-23 this past Sunday.

The playoff action continues elsewhere as well, with the second-seeded St. Louis Battlehawks (6-4) hosting the third-seeded Louisville Kings (6-4) at the Dome at America’s Center. That game kicks off at 5 p.m. Sunday on FOX.

Winners of Sunday's contests will advance to the United Bowl, scheduled for 2 p.m. on June 13 at Audi Field in Washington, to compete for the UFL championship.
