Where does Alabama football’s 2027 recruiting class currently rank?
Here's where major recruiting services are ranking Alabama football's 2027 class so far.
While the 2026 Alabama football recruiting class has yet to take the field for a single snap, head coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff are already aggressively building the foundation for the future. The cycle for the 2027 class is underway, and though the signing period remains months away, the Crimson Tide is beginning to shape its roster.
Building the 2027 Core
Alabama has secured seven early commitments, with a heavy emphasis on elite quarterback talent. Leading the charge is Elijah Havens, ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1 quarterback and No. 2 overall player in the country. Havens chose the Tide over finalists including Georgia, Auburn, and Florida. He is joined in the quarterback room by in-state prospect Trent Seaborn, a four-star talent out of Alabaster.
Defensively, the Tide is making noise as well. Brentwood Academy’s Kenneth Simon II, a four-star linebacker ranked No. 7 at his position by 247Sports, headlines the defensive efforts. The trenches are also being bolstered by in-state three-star defensive lineman Avrian Pauley from McGill-Toolen, alongside Georgia-based prospect Stevan Thornton III. Additionally, Alabama has tapped into the Northeast, securing commitments from four-star athlete Colt Lumpris of New Jersey and tight end Oakley Keegan from Liverpool, New York.
Where Alabama Stands in the Rankings
Current recruiting rankings fluctuate based on the volume of commitments, which explains why Alabama sits at No. 38 in the 247Sports composite rankings. While other programs currently holding more commitments, such as Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Notre Dame, occupy higher spots, the quality of Alabama's class remains high. In fact, the Crimson Tide ranks 14th nationally in terms of average player rating.
The outlook is even brighter across other platforms. The Rivals Industry composite currently slots Alabama at No. 22 nationally. In those standings, Texas A&M sits at the top, followed by Texas Tech and Oklahoma. Within the SEC, the Tide is navigating a crowded field that includes Florida, LSU, Texas, Georgia, Auburn, and Kentucky in the current rankings.
