White House slams Weather Channel’s ‘bulls--t clickbait’ warning for Trump’s birthday UFC match

The White House is facing heat—and not just from the forecast—after launching a fiery attack on The Weather Channel this weekend. The conflict centers on a rather grim weather outlook provided for the upcoming UFC Freedom 250 event, which is slated to celebrate President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday.

Storm Clouds and Social Media Sparks

According to The Weather Channel, the event is currently threatened by a 60% to 80% chance of thunderstorms. The forecast also warns of heavy downpours, wind gusts peaking at 34 mph, and a brutal combination of triple-digit heat index values and dense swarms of mosquitoes and gnats.

The administration's official Rapid Response 47 account on X did not take kindly to the report, slamming the assessment as "bull---- clickbait." In a blistering post, the account claimed the event would proceed "rain or shine," while disparaging the individual responsible for the forecast. The reaction quickly drew social media backlash, including a widely liked comment from political commentator Dean Withers, who noted that The Weather Channel is simply doing its job by reporting the weather.

The Show Goes On

Despite the meteorological warnings, UFC President Dana White confirmed to The Mirror that the fights are still on. Organizers are banking on a venue overhang to keep the octagon dry, though safety protocols mandate a 30-minute freeze on all action if lightning is detected within an eight-mile radius.

The card is set to feature high-stakes action, including a lightweight title bout between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje, along with a heavyweight interim title clash between Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane. The octagon-shaped stage is prepped to host roughly 4,300 attendees, with the public able to catch all the matches streaming live on Paramount+ starting at 8 p.m. ET.
